The MoodSwings–Nights at the Neptune

The MoodSwings Jazz Band celebrates the lives and work of women who have been pioneers in the jazz genre. From Lil Hardin and Sister Rosetta Tharpe to the International Sweethearts of Rhythm and Maria Schneider, the groundbreaking contributions of female blues/jazz composers and performers have often been overlooked.

Featuring the works of Mary Lou Williams, Melba Liston, Toshiko Akiyoshi, and others, the all-female MoodSwings present stunning songs and a media retrospective.
